Applied AI PM

Practical path to 100x impact with AI

There are thousands of posts, talks, and courses telling PMs how to "use AI." Most of it is surface-level noise — a lot of it AI-generated. This 2-day hands-on workshop cuts through all of it. By the end of Day 2 you will know exactly how to think about AI features in your product, and you'll have already built one. Not in theory. For real.

You've done the reading. You're still stuck.

The noise is deafening

Posts, threads, courses, podcasts. Everyone has an opinion on AI for PMs. Most of it is recycled, AI-generated, or written by people who've never shipped an AI feature.

The concepts don't translate

You understand what an LLM is. You've played with ChatGPT. But when it comes to your actual product, you still don't know where to start or what good looks like.

Monday comes and nothing changes

You bookmark the thread, close the tab, and go back to your roadmap. The gap between "I get AI" and "I lead AI products" keeps widening.

Is This Workshop For You?

This is for experienced PMs who are done reading about AI and ready to actually do it. No fluff. No theory for theory's sake. Just the real stack, real tools, and a real feature you build yourself.

🎯

The Experienced PM

You're a mid-to-senior PM who understands product, but you feel the AI fluency gap widening. You want to close it fast without wading through academic content.

🤖

The AI-Adjacent PM

You're already working on AI features but you're relying on engineers to explain the stack. You want to own the technical decisions — model selection, eval design, quality loops.

🚀

The PM Who Wants to Lead

You see AI as a career accelerant and want to position yourself as the go-to AI PM in your organisation. This workshop gives you the vocabulary, the frameworks, and the proof of work.

🔧

The Builder-at-Heart

You want to prototype your own ideas without waiting for an engineer. After Day 2 you'll have done it — a working AI feature you built yourself using Claude Code or Lovable.

This workshop is NOT for you if:

you're a first-year PM still learning the basics, you're looking for a soft intro to "AI in the workplace," or you want to understand AI policy without touching a tool.

What You'll Learn

Two purposefully different days, taught by someone who has shipped AI products in production.

Welcome & Cohort Introductions

Set the stage, meet your cohort, align on goals for both days.

Session 1 — The AI Stack a PM Actually Needs

LLMs, APIs, agents, MCP, evals — taught by someone who has shipped AI products in production, not someone who read about them.

Session 2 — The AI Technical Stack, Demystified

  • LLMs: how they work, capability tiers, cost trade-offs
  • Prompts & prompt engineering: system prompts, few-shot, chain-of-thought
  • APIs in practice: OpenAI Responses API and Anthropic SDK — differences that matter to PMs
  • MCP (Model Context Protocol): why it's changing how AI apps are built
  • Agents & agentic workflows: when they help, when they fail
  • RAG, embeddings, vector search: when you actually need them
  • Evals: why it's the PM's job, not just an engineering problem

Session 3 — Anatomy of AI-Powered Features

  • Feature archetypes: Copilot / Autopilot / Ambient AI
  • Dissecting real features: Notion AI, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Intercom Fin
  • The AI PM spec: what's different from a standard PRD
  • Group exercise: write an eval criterion for 3 real AI features

Session 4 — AI in the PM Lifecycle

  • Discovery: using AI to synthesise user interviews, find theme clusters, size opportunities
  • Ideation: prompting techniques to generate and stress-test feature ideas
  • Rapid prototyping: live demo of Claude Code + Lovable — building a working feature in 30 minutes
  • Specs & PRDs with AI: the prompts that produce output you'd actually ship
  • Design with AI: v0.dev, Figma AI, Claude visual generation — what works, what doesn't
  • Metrics for AI

Session 5 — Your AI PM Toolkit

  • The daily AI PM workflow: how to build habits that compound
  • Curated resource stack: newsletters (Lenny's, The Batch, AI Breakfast), communities, tools
  • How to keep up as the stack moves fast: what to watch, what to ignore
  • Building your personal AI playground: a 2-hour setup that pays dividends

Day 1 Wrap & Q&A

  • Open floor for questions
  • Preview of Day 2: what to prepare
  • Pre-work for Day 2: come with a real product or feature challenge in mind

Your Facilitator

Abhijit Mehta

Abhijit is a practitioner, not a content creator. He has spent the last several years building AI products that ship — leading AI Search at Algolia and AI & Knowledge at Deel. He has written the specs, chosen the models, run the evals, and had the hard conversations with engineers. This workshop is what he wished existed when he started.
